Forested hills rising to 2,500 meters above the west shore of Dian Lake 滇池. A number of old Buddhist monasteries and Daoist temples dot the hillside. Also the extraordinary cliffside Daoist grotto, the Xishan Longmen, carved over a period of 14 years by one Daoist monk.

Photo is of the 500 lohan hall of the Huatingchansi.
